1904 St. Louis Results

In September 1904 only 75 golfers from two nations (3 from Canada & 72 from the United States) competed in two events- men’s individual and men’s team.

Men’s Individual

After a 36-hole stroke play qualifier 32 golfers advanced to 36-hole match play. Only one Canadian qualified for match play and he went on to win the Gold Medal- George Lyon.

Albert Lambert is the only golfer to compete in both the 1900 Paris and 1904 St. Louis Olympic golfing competitions.

Men’s Team

Only three teams of 10 golfers each, all from the United States competed in the 36-hole team competition. All 10 scores counted with the Western Golf Association team winning the gold medal, the Trans-Mississippi Golf Association winning the silver medal and the United States Golf Association winning the bronze medal.
