What is the “Journey to Olympic Golf” and who is Andy Reistetter?

Andy Reistetter, with a goal to raise $100,000 for charity, will “Journey to Olympic Golf” in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, host of the 2016 Summer Olympics, from St. Louis where golf was last played in the Olympics in 1904. The three-month road trip will pass through the Southwest United States, Mexico, Central and South America. The tour will stop in each country with a day of local volunteerism, visits to historical sites and featured golf destinations. The journey will conclude with a flight back to the January 2014 PGA Show in Orlando where the specifics of the charitable donation will be announced.

Andy is more than a freelance golf writer, broadcast assistant and golf entrepreneur. Ultimately he is an inspiration seeker, whose next mission is to celebrate golf’s return to the Olympics. In addition to your individual donation for miles traveled, golf courses played and birdies made, Andy will donate 20% of any revenues received from sponsors. The tour will visit each country in Central America (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama) and South America (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Falkland Islands, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela).
